An important milestone in sustainable mobility has been reached with the launch of the SecuraDrive CIRCL, India’s first road-ready passenger car tyre composed of up to 90% sustainable (bio-based) materials.
The tyre, which was created at CEAT’s worldwide research and development facility in Halol, Gujarat, will come in two varieties: one with 50% bio-based material and another with 90% bio-based content. The tyres, which are priced at Rs 8,999 and Rs 12,999, respectively, will be available for purchase in September 2025 at licensed dealerships and CEAT’s premium retail network. According to the firm, the SecuraDrive CIRCL is marketed to urban consumers in Tier 1 cities between the ages of 25 and 45. It blends premium performance, safety, and eco-conscious design. Following road testing, CEAT claims that the tyre is the most environmentally friendly passenger car tyre ever introduced, highlighting its goal of premiumisation through sustainability and technology.
