Recently, Google Developer Groups (GDG) and KLH Aziz Nagar in Hyderabad successfully held a hands-on workshop called “Build with AI using Google Cloud”. Aarshad Devani, Senior Software Engineer & GDG Hyderabad Lead, and Mr Siv Ram Shastri Jonnalagadda, GDG Cloud Organiser, provided special support for the event, which was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Students and teachers actively participated in the workshop, which provided a unique opportunity to investigate AI-driven technology and practical applications.
Through the use of sophisticated frameworks like Model Context Protocol (MCP), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Intelligent Data Collection (IDC), participants obtained hands-on experience integrating external data with Google Gemini. Real-time data integration, the creation of intelligent retrieval systems, and scalable AI solutions enabled by Google Cloud were the main topics of the seminars. Through project-based learning and interactive modules, participants created context-aware apps that might tackle challenging business problems.
Distinguished GDG presenters at the event included Mr Jay Thakkar, Team Lead & Product Manager – AI, who created bespoke VM authentication for safe AI data exchanges and demonstrated MCP integration.
“This collaboration nurtures creativity, innovation, and technological excellence among our students—empowering them to transform ideas into intelligent solutions for the real world,” said Er. Koneru Lakshman Havish, Vice-President, KL Deemed to be a university, highlighting the transformative impact of AI education. A long-term connection with GDG is being established with this collaboration, opening the door for ongoing technical enrichment, mentorship programmes, and a deeper integration of Google Cloud resources in student-led research and innovation projects.
Dr Arpita Gupta (HOD – CSE), Dr N. Rama Rao (Convenor – GDG Workshop), and Dr A. Ramakrishna (Principal) all contributed to the event’s success. With these progressive efforts, KLH Aziz Nagar, Hyderabad, keeps solidifying its standing as a hub for technology education, encouraging research, innovation, and the creation of world leaders prepared for the future.
