At a ceremony in Bhuj on 23 November, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel laid the foundation stones and officially opened 55 projects totalling more than Rs 503 crore. In addition, the chief minister announced 66 projects totalling Rs 176 crore for the recently established Gandhidham Municipal Corporation.
He claimed that because of the collaboration of the Kutch people and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Kutch has emerged as the district with the quickest rate of development. He noted that following the terrible 2001 earthquake, the neighbourhood saw a sharp increase in jobs, businesses, and tourists. Various development projects will be undertaken in Bhuj, Anjar, Abdasa, Mandvi, and Rapar, according to an official announcement. These include improving and fortifying the internal roadways that link Kutch and other places.
According to the chief minister, the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Saurashtra-Kutch, which is planned for January, will increase district investment even more. In order to establish Kutch as a growth hub, he noted, a regional economic strategy is currently being drafted. The roads and structures department, the forest department’s mangrove learning centre, the irrigation department’s enhancement of water bodies, new schools, and other projects are among the 23 projects for which foundation stones were placed and inaugurations were held. Additionally, the chief minister inaugurated 66 projects totalling Rs 176 crore for the recently established Gandhidham Municipal Corporation and laid the foundation stones.
