Mind and Matter NGO and Tekion Force India recently launched their Mental Wellbeing initiative for schools and colleges for Tamil Nadu. The move is a part of an ongoing initiative.
The campaign started in August 2022 in Kodagu, expanded to Mysore in 2023 and to Hassan in 2024. The organisation conducts a series of mental wellbeing workshops every year for a week for schools and colleges conducted by NIMHANS-trained volunteers in Institutions. They completed the 4th Annual Mental Health Awareness Campaign (MHAC’25) conducted in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatric Social Work, NIMHANS, in November 2025. Impacting over 9370 individuals (children, teachers, and parents), demonstrating a daily engagement that averaged more than 1,500 participants across 40+ educational institutions in the Kodagu, Hassan, Mangalore, and Mysuru Districts, utilizing the expertise of 40+ NIMHANS-trained volunteers.
This initiative brings structured mental well-being sessions to schools and colleges.
Volunteers trained by the Dept. of Psychiatric Social Work, NIMHANS, lead sessions focused on empathy, communication, emotional resilience, and self-awareness.
So far, the NGO has reached 9370+ children, parents & teachers, conducted sessions in 4 districts, across 40+ educational institutions. Volunteers from across the country have facilitated activity-based sessions in small groups of 25.
This program not only benefits participants but also helps volunteers enhance their own mental well-being through meaningful interactions.
