Ankleshwar: In a significant step toward strengthening grassroots employability, Gharda Chemicals Limited, through its CSR arm Gharda Foundation, has inaugurated a new Skill Development Centre in Ankleshwar.
The centre aims to provide practical, job-oriented training to local youth and bridge the gap between education and employment. Developed in collaboration with Elios Management Consulting, the initiative will offer two key programmes— LifeSkills Training and Placement Support, and a Data Analytics Programme.
Senior officials from Gharda Chemicals Limited were present at the launch, including Uttam Kumar Khatri, Associate Vice President – Operations; Aatmaram Chavan, Associate Vice President – HR; Vinayak Dalvi, General Manager – CSR; and Dharmesh Panwala, General Manager – Engineering, Rajesh Patel, Deputy General Manager – HR; Mitul Mistry, Deputy General Manager – HR; Mandar D. Kuchekar, Manager – Civil; Gopal Rathva from Corporate Affairs; and Chhaya Patel, Program Officer along with other team members. Participants enrolled in the programmes also attended the event.
Speaking at the inauguration, Uttam Kumar Khatri highlighted the importance of skill-based education in today’s economy, stating that such initiatives help create real employment opportunities and support long-term growth. Aatmaram Chavan added that the programmes are designed to equip participants with practical skills that match industry requirements.
Vinayak Dalvi noted that the centre is part of the Foundation’s broader effort to improve employability at the grassroots level and prepare youth for industry demands.
The Skill Development Centre is expected to benefit local communities by providing structured training, improving job readiness, and creating pathways to employment. The initiative reflects a growing focus by corporates on building sustainable livelihood opportunities through targeted CSR programmes.
