Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of the Jindal Foundation, has been honoured with the CSR Visionary Leader of the Year award in recognition of her contribution to corporate social responsibility and community development. The award was presented at the 7th Bharat CSR & Sustainability Summit & Awards 2026, organised by The Brainalytics in New Delhi, acknowledging her leadership in driving impactful social initiatives across the country.
The recognition celebrates Jindal’s efforts in expanding the reach and effectiveness of the Jindal Foundation, the social development arm of Jindal Steel. Under her guidance, the Foundation has implemented a wide range of programmes aimed at improving the quality of life for underserved communities through sustainable and inclusive development. Its initiatives span multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, skill development, livelihood generation, water and sanitation, rural infrastructure, environmental conservation, arts and culture, and social inclusion.
Over the years, the Foundation has focused on addressing the needs of vulnerable communities by creating long-term development opportunities rather than short-term interventions. Through partnerships with local communities, government agencies, and development organisations, it has worked to improve access to education, healthcare services, clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, and livelihood opportunities in several parts of India.
Accepting the award, Shallu Jindal dedicated the honour to the communities served by the Foundation and acknowledged the efforts of its employees, partners, volunteers, and stakeholders who have contributed to the organisation’s mission. She said the recognition reflects the collective commitment of everyone involved in creating meaningful social change and building a more equitable and inclusive society.
The Jindal Foundation has consistently placed community development at the centre of its CSR strategy, with programmes designed to empower individuals and strengthen local institutions. Its initiatives aim to improve educational outcomes, enhance healthcare access, promote women’s participation in economic activities, support skill training for youth, and encourage sustainable environmental practices. The Foundation also supports cultural preservation and sports development while promoting social inclusion across diverse communities.
The CSR Visionary Leader of the Year award highlights the growing importance of leadership in advancing responsible business practices and ensuring that corporate social responsibility creates measurable and lasting impact. It recognises individuals who have demonstrated commitment to integrating social development with sustainable growth while inspiring organisations to contribute positively to society.
As Chairperson, Shallu Jindal has played a key role in shaping the Foundation’s vision of creating equitable opportunities for communities through inclusive development. The organisation continues to work across multiple thematic areas, seeking to empower people with better access to education, healthcare, livelihoods, infrastructure, and essential services.
The latest recognition adds to the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its social impact across India and reflects its commitment to creating sustainable change through community-centric initiatives. By focusing on long-term development and collaborative partnerships, the Jindal Foundation continues to contribute to improving the lives of thousands of people while reinforcing the role of corporate social responsibility in nation-building.
