Social Welfare Minister Dr AZM Zahid Hossain has urged BNP leaders and activists to uphold organisational discipline and unity, saying these are crucial for the party to confront national challenges and protect the interests of the country and its people.
Addressing a views exchange meeting at the Lalmonirhat District BNP office on the night of 13 September, Dr Zahid cautioned that internal divisions or disorder could provide an advantage to “covert and fugitive forces.”
He said the BNP must fulfil its responsibility of providing effective leadership, particularly when the country faces difficult circumstances. Emphasising the value of party unity, the minister said that an individual position carries no significance without the organisation and that no organisation can achieve progress without maintaining discipline.
Dr Zahid called upon BNP leaders and activists across all levels to put the party’s interests first and work together with a strong sense of unity and discipline.
Commenting on the activities of the previous Awami League government, he said challenging days may lie ahead and urged party members to remain organised and united to face the difficulties ahead.
The meeting was chaired by Lalmonirhat District BNP President and Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu.
Barrister Hasan Rajib Pradhan, MP from Lalmonirhat-1, and Rokon Uddin Babul, MP from Lalmonirhat-2, were among those who spoke at the meeting.
