On October 8, AXA declared that, as part of its “Dare To Thrive” campaign, it would help nearly 10,000 girls from disadvantaged backgrounds in India receive STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education by 2030.
Through the creation of computer laboratories, the distribution of desktop computers, and scholarship grants, among other measures, AXA Global Business Services will collaborate with ecosystem partners and non-governmental organisations to discover and teach female students who are interested in pursuing STEM education. In honour of AXA Group’s 40th anniversary, the company today announced its collaboration with Friends Union for Energising Lives (FUEL), a Pune-based organisation, to assist the STEM education of 40 girls in Bengaluru and Pune. Through a number of industry relationships, AXA Global Business Services has empowered over 2,500 females in recent years, and it intends to step up its efforts in this regard.
At a ceremony held at AXA GBS’ Bengaluru headquarters, Michele Rochefort, CEO of AXA Global Business Services; Marc Lamy, Consul General of France in Bengaluru; and Alexander Vollert, Group Chief Operating Officer and CEO of AXA Group Operations, introduced the “Dare To Thrive” project.
By assisting those who are suffering social and economic obstacles in realising their full potential, AXA Global Business Services ensures that protection is a right rather than a privilege. For those most in need, the company facilitates rapid growth and opportunities through education, digital empowerment, and community assistance.
The AXA Group, a world leader in insurance, is committed to empowering communities through its different businesses, including AXA Global Business Services. Our social obligations are intended to serve as a testing ground for innovative philanthropic practices. By encouraging female child education and improving their employability, we hope to contribute to a more inclusive world and a larger societal shift by supporting the STEM education of over 10,000 girls from disadvantaged households in India over the course of the next five years. Protecting what counts is at the heart of AXA’s mission, according to Group Chief Operating Officer and AXA Group Operations CEO Alexander Vollert.
“We are proud to reaffirm our conviction with the launch of the ‘Dare to Thrive’ initiative to help transform the lives of thousands of young girls,” stated Michele Rochefort, CEO of AXA Global Business Services. “We believe in the power of togetherness to bring about a change in the communities around us.” We are thrilled about this opportunity to empower underprivileged homes and promote the digital inclusion of female students. Our staff members have dedicated their professional abilities and volunteer hours to empowering communities for many years. Being a skills-first company, this commitment is a continuation of our own learning and development initiatives, in which we make significant investments to help our staff members reskill and upskill.
Our goal is to enable young people, especially girls from smaller towns, by providing them with the necessary opportunity, training, and skill sets to develop their self-confidence and become employable. We are excited to work with AXA on their “Dare to Thrive” campaign and are sure that we can make a significant impact on these students’ lives,” stated FUEL CEO Ketan Deshpande.
