Axis Bank Limited has reaffirmed its dedication to inclusive progress at a time when financial institutions are evaluated on their mission as well as their profitability. The Bank invested Rs 426.57 crores on CSR projects for the fiscal year 2024–2025, which was somewhat more than the Rs 425.92 crores required by the Companies Act of 2013. This accomplishment demonstrates Axis Bank’s commitment to enhancing lives, empowering communities, and furthering environmental objectives throughout India.
The Bank persisted in incorporating sustainability and social responsibility into its central strategy, guided by its vision of “Open for Progress”. Millions were impacted by the bank’s efforts through its CSR division, Axis Bank Foundation, and strategic alliances. These included digital education through Axis DilSe®, rural livelihood programmes, and extensive green projects that went above and beyond tree planting goals. The FY25 CSR performance of Axis Bank demonstrates how intentional banking can help create a resilient, just, and sustainable future. Axis Bank’s CSR commitment for FY 2025 was Rs 425.92 crores, which is equal to 2% of its average net profit over the previous three years. The Bank showed efficiency and commitment by recording total CSR expenses of Rs 426.57 crores, which is a small amount over the required amount by Rs 65 lakhs. This amount will be deducted from future obligations. The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), run by the Axis Bank Foundation, is a vital component of Axis Bank’s CSR initiatives. The Mission 2 Million initiative, which has empowered over 2.05 million rural households across 300 districts in 32 states and union territories since 2018, successfully concluded in FY 2025.
In order to build resilience against economic shocks and climate change, the initiative offered livelihood options, agri-based training, and financial literacy to women, smallholder farmers, and rural entrepreneurs. Axis Bank’s livelihood projects directly impacted 3.9 lakh people in FY 2025 alone.
Building on this achievement, Axis Bank introduced Mission 4 Million at the multi-stakeholder meeting Abhisaran 2025. By encouraging skill-based employment, women’s entrepreneurship, and sustainable farming methods, the next chapter seeks to improve the lives of an additional 2 million rural households.
