The awareness programme is being presented by Hindustan Times and implemented by Aident Social Welfare Organisation. The campaign highlights the importance of pausing to verify suspicious requests and reporting fraudulent activities immediately through the appropriate channels.
To enhance the campaign’s reach and public engagement, filmmaker Rohit Shetty has been associated with the initiative as its brand ambassador. Known for his popular police-themed films, Shetty lends a familiar face to the campaign, reinforcing the message that cyber safety requires constant vigilance and quick action. His involvement aims to make cybersecurity awareness more relatable and accessible to audiences across different age groups and backgrounds.
According to recent government data cited by the campaign, cyber fraud resulted in financial losses amounting to thousands of crores of rupees in India during 2025, with millions of complaints being registered through official reporting systems. These figures underline the increasing sophistication of online scams and the need for preventive education alongside technological safeguards adopted by financial institutions.
Cyber Cop addresses a wide range of fraud techniques that commonly target digital users.
