With the goal of accelerating green energy innovation and funding throughout the Middle East and North Africa, the first CARE MENA Forum—a new regional platform for climate action, renewable energy, and sustainable investment—will make its debut in Dubai on November 26–27.
Trescon is hosting the two-day event, which will coincide with the Digitisation, AI & Emerging Tech Summit at the Madinat Jumeirah. It will bring together key decision-makers, financiers, and businesspeople spearheading the Gulf’s shift to sustainable energy. “CARE MENA offers a unique, action-orientated platform where capital meets climate ambition, especially with the GCC committing billions to renewable infrastructure,” stated Naveen Bharadwaj, group CEO of Trescon.
According to him, the event will showcase projects that are ready for investment in solar, hydrogen, green energy finance, and industrial decarbonisation—all of which are essential to achieving regional net-zero objectives.
Climate leaders and investors have also expressed excitement. While Kevin Holliday, CEO of Venturebeam, referred to the discussion as a “launchpad” for climate tech ventures, Jens Y. Zimmermann, president of Orios Venture Partners, expressed his excitement about investigating new trends and opportunities in renewable energy. Leading investors such as the Royal Group, Sharjah Investment & Development Authority, often known as Shurooq, ARM Holding, Venturesouq, and Plug and Play have backed CARE MENA.
According to the event’s organisers, it will link companies looking for sustainable investment prospects with venture capital firms, institutional investors, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds.
CARE allows climate finance experts to “deploy capital in an environmentally impactful and responsible way,” according to Ahmed Refaie, CEO and global CIO of G.P.I. Global Partners Investments. Several flagship projects aimed at fostering sustainable innovation will be showcased at the forum. The ClimateTech World Cup will introduce entrepreneurs to investors, corporations, and the media while showcasing innovative sustainability solutions.
While the CARE Innovation Program will highlight student-led initiatives addressing pressing climate issues, CARE Launchpad will highlight innovative research, applications, and whitepapers that have the potential to secure financing and create collaborations.
The “Young Sustainability Pioneer of the Year” and the “Responsible Investor of the Year” will also be honoured at the Trescon-hosted CARE ESG Awards, which are sponsored by ESG MENA. The summit will feature investor roundtables, partnership forums, and pitch sessions, with assistance from sponsors Emtribe, Cero Hero, Enjazponic, and S&P Global. Making sure that conversations result in quantifiable investment commitments will be the main goal of these meetings.
According to Sofia Kostiunina, managing director of 100VP, also known as 100 Venture Partners, a global capital network dedicated to supporting startups and entrepreneurs in the Middle East, particularly the Gulf Cooperation Council region, “CARE is an excellent platform for the VC community to identify breakthrough opportunities in renewable energy and climate tech.”
According to Trescon, the event seeks to accelerate the green energy ecosystem throughout the area by coordinating government priorities with private-sector innovation and funding.
