In order to turn the current government building into a model AI-enabled rural skilling and livelihood centre, the Cyient Foundation, the company’s corporate social responsibility arm, announced the opening of the “Cyient AI & Future Skills Hub” at the Digital Bhavan, Pedamainavani Lanka in West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh.
Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman of Cyient, was there when Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Government of India, introduced the Hub.
By providing future-ready skills in line with local livelihood prospects and rising workforce demands, the Cyient AI & Future Skills Hub will empower young people, women, farmers, self-help organisations, and local businesses.
The initiative, which supports national priorities like Digital India, Skill India, and Viksit Bharat 2047, is intended to bolster India’s AI-enabled rural transformation journey. It also provides a high-impact example of how government infrastructure can be enhanced through CSR partnerships to create inclusive and scalable development models.
A 40-system computer lab, drone training equipment, high-speed connectivity, licensed and open-source AI tools, smart classrooms, AI-enabled systems, and a centralised learning management system that will facilitate structured training delivery, real-time tracking, and outcome measurement have all been added to the centre as part of this initiative. By improving the current Digital Bhavan infrastructure rather than building new facilities, the Hub employs a value-addition strategy.
The Hub will provide three future-ready skill pathways—AI-Enabled Digital and IT Literacy, AI-Driven Digital Marketing and E-Commerce, and Agri-Tech and Aqua-Tech (Drone Operations)—through industry-relevant and National Skills Qualifications Framework-aligned courses.
Each course will be taught using a 12-week training model that emphasises practical learning and is based on a theoretical approach that is 40% AI-assisted and 60% hands-on. In order to guarantee job preparedness and long-term livelihood results, participants will receive assistance with certification and placement, or self-employment.
Through organised batches, the programme aims to train over 300 people annually. It seeks to attain a minimum of 75% employment or self-employment, giving members access to revenue-generating options in digital services, e-commerce support, CSC operations, and drone-based agricultural services.
“The Cyient AI & Future Skills Hub reflects our deep commitment to enabling rural communities to participate meaningfully in India’s digital and AI-driven growth story,” stated Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman, Cyient Limited, in a statement regarding the launch. We are assisting rural women and youth in gaining future-ready skills that directly convert into job and business prospects by bolstering current infrastructure and integrating AI into genuine livelihood routes.
Building on its impressive history, the Cyient Foundation has successfully digitised more than 120 government schools, achieving digital literacy for over 35,000 children. More than 21,000 students are currently enjoying high-quality education thanks to its Adopt-a-School programme. The Foundation has supported rural development and women’s empowerment in addition to education. Over 2,000 rural women receive training for long-term jobs every year.
