With the opening of its new office, the release of a new logo, and the reopening of the Varnam Child Development Centre (VCDC), the Divis Foundation for Gifted Children (DFGC) celebrated a significant milestone on 13 Oct. These events represented the Foundation’s heightened dedication to care, inclusion, and excellence in child development.
Highlighting the Foundation’s expanding position in society, Dr Murali Divi, Chairman of Divis Laboratories Ltd, opened the new DFGC office and praised the work completed over the previous ten years.
“DFGC embodies our core values: integrity-based service and compassion informed by research. Our current level of progress is the consequence of our shared goal and unwavering dedication. It is encouraging to watch this project grow into a movement that gives every child opportunities and fosters their potential,” stated Dr Divi.
Ms Nilima Divi, DFGC’s Managing Trustee, revealed the organisation’s new logo, which represents a revitalised vision that combines continuity and regeneration, empathy and quality.
Ms Nilima Divi remarked, “Varnam beautifully embodies that spirit.” “It continues a tradition of care while broadening its scope, guaranteeing that each child is recognised, encouraged, and honoured for their uniqueness.”
Ms Swarnalatha Divi spearheaded the Varnam Child Development Center’s relaunch, and her presence demonstrated the family’s strong dedication to inclusive child development.
DFGC President Dr Pramod Gaddam emphasised the importance of this change: “This is about creating an ecosystem where early intervention, advocacy, training, and research come together with clarity and compassion so that every child can thrive—it’s not just about a new location or name.”
Distinguished visitors and well-wishers from top partner institutions and organisations graced the occasion, including a number of representatives from the academic and development sectors who have been intimately involved with DFGC’s joint projects.
Under the direction of DFGC, the renamed Varnam Child Development Centre—formerly the Child Development Centre under the Fernandez Foundation—will carry on providing comprehensive developmental care while growing into awareness-raising, training, and research.
With this change, DFGC solidifies its position as a leading organisation promoting inclusive early childhood development, bolstered by partnerships with both domestic and foreign partners. A tour of the building, group photos and a discussion on DFGC’s mission to support each kid in expressing their unique colour marked the ceremony’s conclusion.
