Feeding India brings smiles to 1 lakh children with special Children’s Day campaign

More than a million children in India were delighted by Feeding India this Children’s Day. More than 500 volunteers brought boxes full of games, toys, and educational materials to more than 500 schools and learning centres spread across more than 150 cities. These straightforward treasures were just waiting to be opened by kids who don’t often have access to them.

These common pleasures are still out of reach for many people in underprivileged settings. In order to provide materials that stimulate creativity, develop cognitive abilities, and produce enduring memories, Feeding India partnered with top brands like Mattel®, Mirada, Smartivity, Skillmatics, and Imagimake. The program’s goal was to give every youngster a unique opportunity to feel appreciated and honoured. The project provided educational puzzles from Smartivity and Skillmatics, DIY kits from Imagimake, cuddly toys and colouring books from Mirada, Barbie®, UNO®, and other Mattel® games. These toys promote social contact through play as well as fine motor abilities and problem-solving. A representative for Feeding India commented on the collaboration, saying, “Every child deserves to experience the wonder of learning and the simple joy of play.”

For us and more than a million children, this Children’s Day became a significant occasion as they opened not only presents but also resources for creativity and  development. Schools and learning facilities that participate in Feeding India’s flagship Daily Feeding Program, which guarantees children wholesome meals while laying the groundwork for holistic development, were also included in the Children’s Day celebration. The programme adopts a holistic approach to child welfare by fusing regular dietary support with happy and educational moments, ensuring that every kid has an equal opportunity to dream and flourish.
