Recently, the HCLFoundation, which spearheads HCLTech’s CSR agenda in India, celebrated the tenth anniversary of its flagship programme, HCLTech Grant, which funds creative rural development initiatives carried out by Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) around the nation.
Over Rs 169 crore has been invested by the HCLTech Grant since its inception in 2015 in projects that have improved the lives of 2.3 million people. Over the previous ten editions, the programme has received over 13,000 bids from NGOs and over 87,000 registrations, demonstrating its reliability. With 18 ongoing and 49 finished projects, the HCLTech Grant is establishing new standards for scale and trust in India’s development ecosystem while promoting inclusive change at the local level. The HCLFoundation has announced a 45% increase in its annual investment to Rs 24 crore, beginning with the programme’s 11th iteration. Water, biodiversity, education, and healthcare will be project categories in the most recent edition. For a four-year project, the winning NGO will receive Rs 5 crore, and for a two-year project, the eight runner-up NGOs would each earn Rs 50 lakh.
“HCLTech Grant has empowered NGOs, the fifth estate of our society, to effectively drive change at the grassroots level, from inclusive growth to ecosystem revitalisation.” Our current priorities include investing in research and digital monitoring, growing the projects’ impact, and entering new markets. Our sincere appreciation goes out to the NGO partners who have contributed to this groundbreaking programme over the last 10 years,” stated HCLTech Chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra.
“We have shown that significant change can be achieved through solid collaborations with NGOs. Dr Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President, Global CSR at HCLTech and Director of the HCLFoundation, continued, “The real impact is seen in restored dignity and transformed lives—it goes beyond numbers.”
