The CSR division of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable and inclusive development today by announcing ₹56 crore in CSR projects in Maharashtra. These programmes, which were introduced by Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and centre on community welfare, road safety, healthcare, and the environment, represent a significant turning point in Hyundai’s collaboration with the government. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, commented on the measures, saying, “HMIF’s initiatives today demonstrate a strong commitment to the people of Maharashtra.” It highlights Hyundai’s responsibilities as a responsible corporate citizen committed to social advancement in addition to its duty as a manufacturer.
“Propelled by our global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, we are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in society by driving positive change and enabling communities to grow stronger and more sustainable,” stated Mr. Unsoo Kim, Managing Director, HMIL, in a statement marking the event. Since we have always believed in generating shared value by investing in projects that have a direct impact on people’s lives and going beyond business, Maharashtra has a very particular meaning for us. Dange Chowk in Pune will be the site of the flagship project, IONIQ Forest, which would turn the region into one of the biggest afforestation zones in the state. Hyundai’s nationwide greening efforts will be strengthened by the ₹32 crore project, which will use the Miyawaki technique to plant one million native trees over 90.5 acres. With the help of the Nagpur Traffic Police’s “My Road, My Friend” campaign, HMIF initiated a ₹4 crore project under the Easy Roads Initiative to build a traffic engineering centre and an organisation development centre in Nagpur and Pune.
The Adhikaar Connect initiative, which was unveiled in Talegaon and Nashik, would help close the gaps in public welfare access by supporting application and documentation procedures and encouraging financial and digital literacy in rural areas. Furthermore, the community development initiatives in Maharashtra will be strengthened by HMIF’s ongoing pan-India programmes, such as improving healthcare access through Sparsh Sanjeevani Telemedicine Clinics and Mobile Medical Units, supporting cancer awareness and treatment under Hope for Cancer, encouraging grassroots sport talent under Sports Lab, providing financial grants for the promotion of art and culture under Art for Hope, and providing driver training and automotive training under Drive4Progress.
