With Rs 2,500 crore invested in 2023–2024, Karnataka has become the third-largest state contributor of financial assistance under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara announced 3 September. Across the nation, a total of Rs 34,000 crore was donated under CSR.
Speaking at the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s (FKCCI) India CSR and Sustainability Awards, Dr. Parameshwara emphasised that although the state has schools in practically every area, the most pressing demand is still for high-quality education. He went on to say that Karnataka has made impressive progress in the fields of industry, education, healthcare, and software exports, accounting for around 40% of all IT exports from the nation.
He claimed that Mangaluru is currently the second-most alluring coastal city for investments, highlighting Karnataka’s increasing appeal to investors. He also emphasised how the state’s involvement in health tourism increased during S M Krishna’s leadership as chief minister.
