As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Lenovo India and BharatCares have installed 1,000 LED lamps in 30 villages in Puducherry. Assembly Speaker R. Selvam officially opened the streetlights on December 2, according to a news release. “As we grow our make-in-India manufacturing lines in Puducherry, we are also strengthening our commitment to the communities that support us,” said Shrikanth R. Dhanakshirur, Director-India Manufacturing, Lenovo India. More local jobs have been made possible by this expansion, which has also improved community involvement with our facilities. We are introducing 1,000 LED streetlights to 30 villages as part of this project in an effort to make neighbourhoods safer and support long-term, sustainable community development.
