The M3M Foundation established itself as one of India’s leading private philanthropy donors in FY 2024–2025 with an astounding investment of Rs 70 crore in high-impact initiatives. In recognition of a total social investment of Rs 70 crore over the review period, the M3M Foundation is pleased to announce its inclusion in the esteemed EdelGive–Hurun India Philanthropy List 2025. As a major contributor to the city’s total donation of Rs 90 crore, this milestone places the M3M Foundation at the forefront of philanthropic action in Gurugram and marks the city’s biggest philanthropic contribution of the year.
The M3M Foundation reaffirms its dedication to accelerating significant social change in the areas of education, health, livelihoods, the environment, and sports under the direction of Dr Payal Kanodia, daughter of Basant Bansal, and Trustees Basant Bansal and Roop Bansal.
Dr Payal Kanodia stated, “We think that education is the first multiplier of change.” Through inclusive sports, environmental resilience, high-quality education, and health access, our strategic initiatives seek to build pathways that empower communities. This acknowledgement demonstrates our strong determination to turn promise into reality.
The M3M Foundation, led by Dr Payal Kanodia, Shri Basant Bansal, and Shri Roop Kumar Bansal, has earned a spot among India’s top 10 philanthropists with a contribution of Rs 70 crore, recognised on the EdelGive–Hurun India Philanthropy List 2025, along with legacy business enterprises like Ashirvadam NGO (Ashok Soota), Jindal Steel and Power (Naveen Jindal & family), Mazumdar Shaw Philanthropy (Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw), CESC (Sanjiv Goenka & family), Micro Labs (Dilip Surana & Anand Surana), and Ashraya Hastha Trust (K. Dinesh).
Among philanthropists who gave between INR 50 Cr and INR 100 Cr, it was ranked seventh nationally on the EdelGive–Hurun India Philanthropy List 2025. The Foundation is a prime example of how regional anchors may drive India’s growing philanthropic ecosystem by directing Rs 70 crore of targeted resources inside Gurugram and beyond, making a significant contribution to the country’s total giving of Rs 10,380 crore in 2025.
The Foundation, which places a high priority on education-led giving, keeps up with national goals by supporting programmes in digital learning, teacher capacity building, school enablement, and scholarships that give communities the means to prosper.
In addition to education, the M3M Foundation works to protect wildlife and ensure water security in Tipeshiwar and Kolhu Chaur, support migrant-worker welfare through health services and cooked meals, promote inclusive sports and athletics (para-athlete partnerships), and support artisan livelihoods (Sea Buckthorn enterprise in Nubra). The EdelGive–Hurun India Philanthropy List 2025 recognises the M3M Foundation as a potent illustration of impact-driven, purpose-driven philanthropy. The Foundation is well-positioned to expand its reach throughout India and intensify its interventions under the direction of Dr Payal Kanodia, Basant Bansal, and Roop Bansal.
The M3M Foundation’s future goals include expanding wildlife conservation efforts into new areas like the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, strengthening sustainable livelihoods by connecting skill development and entrepreneurship to market access, building inclusive sports ecosystems to develop India’s next generation of champions, and scaling education access and quality through digital platforms and “school-plus” models. “This is not just an honour—it is a reminder of our responsibility,” as Dr Kanodia so eloquently puts it. Philanthropy must develop, adapt, and provide; it cannot remain stagnant. We are prepared for the upcoming phase.
