Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently unveiled a major corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by Malabar Gold & Diamonds, which plans to spend ₹200 crore in the financial year 2026–27. The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to social development alongside its business growth.
A significant portion of this CSR budget will be directed toward education, with a strong focus on empowering girls. The company aims to provide scholarships to around 33,000 female students, helping them continue their studies and improve their future prospects. This move is intended to promote gender equality and increase access to education for underprivileged sections of society.
In addition to education, the CSR plan also emphasizes healthcare and hunger relief. Efforts will be made to support medical assistance programs and provide nutritious meals to those in need. These initiatives are expected to benefit nearly 2 lakh individuals across different parts of the country.
The programme highlights a broader approach to social responsibility, combining education, health, and basic welfare to improve overall quality of life. It also aligns with national development goals by targeting vulnerable communities and addressing key social challenges.
