Under its premier CSR initiative, Springboard, Karnataka Media Academy has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with IT behemoth Infosys to train journalists in front of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The Karnataka Media Academy’s first initiative within the CSR framework will be this Memorandum of Understanding, which aims to provide soft skills training for journalists. The goals of this cooperation are to give journalists access to digital education, skill development, and capacity building through the Infosys CSR program “Springboard”. This collaboration between Media Academy and Infosys Springboard represents a significant advancement in the adaptation of new media. “We are confident that this cutting-edge platform will significantly contribute to the upskilling of media professionals, especially in the journalistic field, by giving them the technical know-how and storytelling skill needed in the rapidly changing media landscape of today,’ stated Ayesha Khanam, chairperson of the Karnataka Media Academy.
Satheesha B. Nanjappa, SVP, Head ETA, Infosys Ltd., stated upon the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding that “Infosys Springboard is a CSR programme focusing on education.” The Media Academy and Infosys Springboard inked a Memorandum of Understanding today. The instructional materials in the areas of soft skills, personality development, and an overview of the newest technology, such as artificial intelligence, will be available to media academy students on Springboard. The journalists in tier 2 and tier 3 cities will undoubtedly benefit from this.
Journalists will participate in a three-day training programme under the Infosys Springboard initiative. The course will address personality development, artificial intelligence, and digital media fundamentals.
This year, a total of 150 journalists will be trained through three programmes. One of these will be used exclusively to train female journalists as part of the gender budget. Journalists at the district level will be given preference in this training. The Karnataka Media Academy will organise the involvement of journalists and trainers, while Infosys will supply the platform and expertise.
This is a significant endeavour that aims to raise the standard of journalism. The Karnataka Media Academy is moving forward with the goal of teaching more journalists.
