In a major step towards improving skill development in India’s woodworking sector, the Hettich Poddar Wood Working Institute (HPWWI) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Biesse.
The collaboration intends to improve instruction on cutting-edge woodworking equipment, enabling students to incorporate contemporary technology into their workmanship. Beyond schooling, the partnership demonstrates a common dedication to fostering environmental stewardship, empowering people via upskilling, and producing long-term benefit for the country.
This is the second partnership between HPWWI and Biesse; the first was in Faridabad, and the current partnership is growing to Bhandup, Mumbai, signifying Biesse’s calculated foray into India’s financial hub.
“At HPWWI, our focus has always been on creating an environment where skill meets technology and learning leads to livelihood,” continued Amit Prasad, CHRO, Hettich India & Director, HPWWI. Through this partnership, Biesse’s cutting-edge woodworking equipment is integrated into our training environment, giving our students access to top-notch resources for learning, designing, and creating. It reaffirms our dedication to preparing each trainee for the workforce and the manufacturing of the future.
The woodworking sector in India is changing very quickly, moving from conventional methods to highly sophisticated, technology-driven processes, according to Sayeed Ahmed, CEO of Biesse India. Through this MoU with HPWWI, we’re not simply bridging the technology divide but also empowering individuals to grow with it. Real development happens when machines and people work together to produce lasting value for the nation.”
Walter Ferrara, Honourable Consul General of Italy in Mumbai, graced the occasion with the theme “Technology Day with Biesse”, sharing that “this partnership is a symbol of how Italian innovation and Indian craftsmanship can come together to create opportunities, empower communities, and build a more inclusive, sustainable future.” It symbolises the strengthening ties between our two countries, where education, technology, and skill come together to form the future.
The event showcased how education and innovation can work together to alter India’s skill development landscape through interactive seminars and live workshops. Participants saw firsthand how HPWWI’s training modules can seamlessly include Biesse’s cutting-edge woodworking technologies, giving students exposure to real-world, industry-relevant applications.
HPWWI is deeply appreciative of Biesse’s collaboration, confidence, and common goal of empowering India’s skilled labour force and advancing the country’s manufacturing transition to a more intelligent, sustainable future.
