Through its corporate social responsibility program, UMEED, RBL Bank, one of the top private sector banks in India, has given 400 school kits and bicycles to Bengaluru’s poor girls’ children. The program tackles one of the major issues causing female students to drop out of school: the distance between their homes and schools.
Senior dignitaries from RBL Bank, N. A. Haris, MLA, Shanti Nagar Constituency, Dr. Priyadarshini Ishwar Sanikopp, ACP, Bengaluru, Pushpavathi R, Office Superintendent Bal Bhawan, and Nagesh KR, Consultant, Bal Bhawan, were present at the bicycle donation drive, which took place at Jawahar Bal Bhavan in Bengaluru.
By giving impoverished girls access to dependable mobility, the UMEED initiative seeks to provide a workable and lasting alternative. These bicycles will enable kids to travel to school effectively while encouraging an eco-friendly and energy-conscious lifestyle. “At RBL Bank, we believe that education is the cornerstone of a bright future,” stated R. Subramaniakumar, MD & CEO. We work to remove important obstacles that keep kids from receiving high-quality education through our CSR program, UMEED. Our goal is to enable young girls to overcome challenges and follow their aspirations by giving them school packs and bicycles. This program demonstrates our dedication to building a more just and inclusive society where all children have the chance to develop, learn, and flourish.
For underprivileged communities nationwide, RBL Bank’s UMEED program has been a ray of hope. The Bank continues to spearhead effective outreach initiatives that result in significant change, with an emphasis on facilitating knowledge and creating opportunities.
