As part of its CSR efforts, REC Limited has given the Indian Red Cross Society, Alwar, Rs 5.71 crore to operate five Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) over three years, in keeping with its goal of providing high-quality healthcare to even the most remote regions.
On October 5, 2025, Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, and Sanjay Sharma, Minister of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change and Science & Technology, Government of Rajasthan, officially launched the MMUs.
Senior officials from the Indian Red Cross Society and the district administration, as well as the REC CSR team and M. L. Meena, GM & HoD, attended the occasion. These MMUs, which are outfitted with GPS-enabled tracking systems, will provide vital healthcare services to populations in the districts of Alwar, Bhartari, and Behror-Kotpuli, which encompass some of Rajasthan’s most impoverished and tribal regions.
The program, which provides free medical consultations, treatment, medications, and education about preventive healthcare, is anticipated to help more than 10,000 people each month.
