The Welspun Home Solutions Limited terry towel manufacturing plant in Gujarat was virtually inaugurated by Bhupendrabhai Patel, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, as a major step towards achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat. Welspun will become the largest terry towel maker in the world under one roof, offering a wide variety of products, thus solidifying Gujarat’s standing as a worldwide manufacturing powerhouse. Over 3,000 direct and over 10,000 indirect jobs will be created by this new factory, bringing Anjar’s total workforce to almost 30,000.
Notably, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel also laid the foundation stone for this new facility in December of last year. The project was finished in a record 12-month period, putting it ready for production. The plant’s quick opening is a testament to Welspun’s execution skills and Gujarat’s thriving industrial ecosystem.
The opening of this new facility would further solidify Gujarat’s and Welspun’s standing as a major global manufacturing base and bolster its dominance in the home textiles industry.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel stated that “a self-reliant India greatly depends on the contribution of local companies like Welspun.” Since 2004, Welspun Group has operated in Gujarat, actively supporting government initiatives such as Make in India, Make for the World, and Local to Global. The company has also been instrumental in fostering inclusive growth and local job creation. In keeping with Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi’s “do what you say” approach, the Welspun Group managed to prepare this plant in only 12 months. Support for all, progress for all, trust for all, and efforts for all should be our motto.
The largest towel production facility in the world will now be Welspun’s Anjar plant. Welspun Living’s global leadership in the home textiles industry is further reinforced by this cutting-edge facility, which is furnished with cutting-edge technologies and a wide variety of products. The plant is a testament to Welspun’s dedication to innovation and creating a significant number of jobs in Gujarat.
“Every disruption at Welspun has taught us not to just stand back but to scale higher,” stated Dipali Goenka, Managing Director and CEO of Welspun Living. Value-based execution, stability, and quick adaptation are not responses to difficult circumstances; rather, they are our way of life. Obstacles eventually lead to progress when people are respected, processes are robust, and decisions are guided by purpose.
Welspun Group’s long-term commitment to India’s superior industrial capabilities, infrastructure development, and sustainable growth is reflected in its nation-building efforts. It is anticipated that the new facilities will support modern production techniques, create a large number of jobs, and benefit both domestic and international markets. Welspun Group continues to play a crucial part in India’s industrial development path through these key investments, advancing the country’s aspirations for an Atmanirbhar Bharat and a developed, globally competitive India.
Along with a number of other notable visitors and high-ranking officials, the ceremony was attended by Hon. State Minister Trikambhai Chhanga, Hon. MLA Maltiben K. Maheshwari, and Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat Shri Manoj Kumar Das.
