The Bharti Airtel Foundation has committed to supporting students enrolled in the Postgraduate Programme in Management for Young Leaders (PGP YL) for a number of years, and the Indian School of Business (ISB) is happy to announce the creation of the Bharti Airtel Scholarship.
Through a structured need-cum-merit-based scholarship programme, five students from each PGP YL cohort—who will be referred to as Bharti Scholars—would receive full or partial waivers of tuition, housing, and meal expenses. The Foundation’s dedication to increasing access to high-quality higher education and enabling worthy individuals from a variety of backgrounds is reflected in the scholarship programme.
The MoU was signed in front of Mr DNV Kumara Guru, Senior Director-Advancement, Alumni Engagement and External Relations, ISB; Professor Madan Pillutla, Dean, Indian School of Business; and Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Co-Chairman, Bharti Airtel Foundation and Vice Chairman, Bharti Enterprises. “Education is the foundation of empowerment and progress,” stated Rakesh Bharti Mittal, co-chairman of the Bharti Airtel Foundation. As we broaden the scope of our higher education scholarships, Bharti is a logical partner because of their historical affiliation with the Indian School of Business. We take pride in helping brilliant minds—our “Bharti Scholars”—who will go on to lead and effect change in the future through the Bharti Airtel Scholarship. Amazing things occur when skill and opportunity come together.
“We are extremely appreciative of the Bharti Airtel Foundation’s vision and generosity in providing scholarships that will help open doors for worthy PGP YL students to benefit from ISB’s transformative education and leadership ecosystem,” stated Professor Madan Pillutla, Dean of ISB. Our shared commitment to promoting inclusive excellence and developing the next generation of leaders for India and beyond has advanced significantly with this relationship.
Since its founding, the Foundation has funded more than 2,000 scholars—44 per cent of whom are girls—through a variety of programmes, giving kids from underprivileged neighbourhoods access to high-quality higher education.
The Bharti Airtel Scholarship underscores ISB’s dedication to expanding its scholarship programme and making sure that entry to its top-notch management education is determined by merit and potential rather than financial limitations.
