In an effort to promote inclusive growth and improve employment opportunities, IndiGo has launched a new skill development initiative through its CSR arm, IndiGoReach. The programme aims to train around 300 underprivileged youth, including persons with disabilities (PwDs) and individuals from gender-diverse communities, equipping them with industry-relevant skills for sustainable livelihoods.
To implement this initiative, IndiGoReach has partnered with Blind People’s Association (BPA), a well-known organisation working in the field of disability inclusion and community development. The collaboration reflects a shared vision of creating equal opportunities and reducing barriers that often prevent marginalised groups from accessing formal employment.
The training programme is designed to focus on sectors with high employment potential, such as travel, transportation, logistics, and hospitality. Participants will receive structured training along with recognised certifications, enabling them to build careers in service-oriented industries. By aligning the curriculum with industry needs, the initiative seeks to ensure that trainees are job-ready and capable of integrating into the workforce effectively.
A key objective of the programme is to enhance employability while also fostering long-term self-reliance. Many beneficiaries come from underserved backgrounds where access to skill development opportunities is limited. By providing both technical and soft skills training, the initiative aims to prepare participants not only for employment but also for sustained career growth.
