NTPC Lara has introduced a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative titled “Evoice Samarth,” aimed at supporting students from economically weaker sections through free coaching and mentorship. The programme has been launched in Raigarh to benefit students studying in nearby government higher secondary schools, with a focus on improving academic performance and building confidence among young learners.
The initiative was formally inaugurated by the Business Unit Head of NTPC Lara, marking another step in the company’s ongoing efforts toward community development. Through this programme, students will receive structured academic guidance in key subjects, helping them strengthen their foundational knowledge and perform better in examinations. The initiative specifically targets those who lack access to quality coaching facilities due to financial or geographical constraints.
A distinctive feature of “Evoice Samarth” is the active involvement of NTPC employees as volunteer mentors. These mentors will regularly engage with students, offering academic assistance as well as personal guidance. This mentorship model aims to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel motivated to improve and succeed. Such engagement also helps bridge the gap between formal education and real-world learning experiences.
Beyond academic coaching, the programme focuses on the overall development of students. It seeks to instill self-confidence, motivation, and a positive mindset, enabling participants to aspire for higher education and better career opportunities. By nurturing these qualities, the initiative goes beyond textbook learning and contributes to shaping well-rounded individuals capable of overcoming socio-economic challenges.
The launch event also included the recognition of academic excellence, where a meritorious student was felicitated for outstanding performance in the CBSE Class 10 Board Examination 2026, scoring 98.33 percent. This recognition serves as an inspiration for other students and highlights the importance of dedication and hard work in achieving academic success.
The “Evoice Samarth” programme is part of NTPC’s broader CSR framework, which emphasizes education, healthcare, and community development as key focus areas. The company has consistently implemented initiatives designed to uplift communities living near its operational areas. Through such programmes, NTPC aims to improve access to essential services and create long-term positive impacts on society.
Additionally, NTPC encourages employee participation in social initiatives through platforms like EVOICE (Employee Voluntary Organizations for Initiatives in Community Development). These platforms enable employees to actively contribute to community welfare projects, enhancing both social impact and employee engagement.
Overall, the launch of “Evoice Samarth” reflects NTPC Lara’s commitment to inclusive development and educational empowerment. By providing free coaching, mentorship, and holistic support, the programme aims to create equal learning opportunities for underprivileged students. It is expected to play a significant role in improving academic outcomes and inspiring students to pursue their ambitions with confidence, thereby contributing to the broader goal of social and educational progress in the region.
