Muthoot Finance has announced a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outlay of ₹174.03 crore for the financial year 2026-27, reinforcing its commitment to social development and community welfare. The allocation comes after the company’s CSR initiatives in FY26 reached an estimated 33.7 lakh beneficiaries across the country through programmes focused on education, healthcare, housing, livelihood support, environmental sustainability, and sports.
As India’s largest gold loan non-banking financial company (NBFC), Muthoot Finance said its CSR strategy is centred on creating long-term social impact rather than one-time interventions. The company implements its community development programmes under its CSR platform, “Haathi Mera Saathi,” with a focus on improving access to education, healthcare, and essential infrastructure in underserved communities.
Education continues to remain one of the company’s primary focus areas. During FY26, nearly 11,900 students from economically weaker sections received support through initiatives such as the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards, Higher Education Scholarship, and Shiksha Jyoti programme. These schemes provide scholarships, educational resources, and financial assistance to deserving students, enabling them to pursue higher education and improve their career prospects.
Healthcare was another major area of intervention. Through initiatives including Project Snehasraya, the company extended preventive healthcare services, medical outreach, rehabilitation assistance, and treatment support to more than one lakh people. These programmes are aimed at improving access to quality healthcare, particularly in rural and underserved regions where medical facilities remain limited.
Beyond education and healthcare, Muthoot Finance also invested in housing assistance, livelihood generation, environmental conservation, and sports development. The company supported vulnerable families through housing projects, encouraged sustainable community practices, and promoted sporting talent as part of its broader approach to inclusive development. These initiatives are designed to enhance living standards while creating opportunities for long-term economic and social progress.
The increased CSR allocation reflects the company’s intention to expand the scale and reach of its social initiatives in FY27. By strengthening partnerships with local communities and implementation agencies, Muthoot Finance aims to improve programme effectiveness and ensure that CSR investments generate measurable outcomes. The company believes that sustainable business growth should be accompanied by meaningful contributions to society, particularly in areas that require long-term developmental support.
Corporate Social Responsibility has become an integral part of India’s corporate ecosystem since the introduction of mandatory CSR provisions under the Companies Act, 2013. In line with these regulations, Muthoot Finance continues to invest in projects that contribute to education, health, environmental sustainability, and community welfare. With a significantly higher CSR budget for FY27, the company is expected to further strengthen its role in supporting inclusive growth and improving the quality of life for communities across India.
