The company launches Sustainability Month 2026 with a focus on environmental protection, community development and responsible power generation.
Vedanta Power Limited has reached nearly 87,000 people through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the financial year 2025-26 (FY26), taking the total number of beneficiaries to nearly 4 lakh. The company announced these achievements while launching its CSR Annual Report for FY26 and marking the beginning of Vedanta Sustainability Month 2026.
The report was launched by Rajinder Singh Ahuja, CEO and Whole-time Director of Vedanta Power, along with the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and senior leadership team. The month-long programme aims to encourage employees, business partners and local communities to participate in activities related to environmental protection, workplace safety, cleanliness, health and social development.
Ahuja said sustainability is an important part of how Vedanta Power operates and grows. He highlighted the company’s focus on reliable power generation, efficient operations, responsible use of resources, workplace safety and creating long-term value for communities.

Focus on Environment and Community Welfare
During FY26, Vedanta Power employees contributed more than 500 hours of voluntary service to environmental and community programmes. The company also used around 3.3 lakh metric tonnes of torrefied biomass for co-firing, which it estimates helped reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 0.4 million tonnes.
The company has planted around 9 lakh trees across its operations to support green cover and biodiversity.Its community initiatives include supplying 15,000 litres of drinking water daily to 300 households and installing approximately 450 solar streetlights, benefiting around 22,000 people. School infrastructure improvements have also benefited more than 300 students.
Following disruptions caused by Cyclone Ditwah in December 2025, the company provided meals to around 850 community members as part of its relief efforts.
Women and Children Among Key Beneficiaries
Of the nearly 4 lakh people reached through CSR programmes to date, approximately 1.6 lakh are women and children. The initiatives cover education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, water and sanitation, and community infrastructure.
Vedanta Sustainability Month 2026 will feature tree plantation drives, environmental awareness campaigns, cleanliness activities, waste management programmes, workplace health and safety initiatives, quizzes and learning events.
Through these efforts, Vedanta Power aims to strengthen employee participation and expand its environmental and social impact while supporting sustainable and responsible growth in communities around its operations.
