Kotak Education Foundation (KEF) has selected 1,000 meritorious students from economically disadvantaged families across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) for its Kotak Junior Scholarship programme, titled “Future Ka Golden Ticket.”
The initiative aims to help deserving students continue their education after Class 10 by providing financial assistance, academic support and personal mentorship.
The scholarship programme, implemented by KEF as part of the education-focused corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Kotak Mahindra Bank, supports students entering Class 11 after completing their Class 10 examinations through the SSC, CBSE or ICSE boards.

Each selected scholar will receive ₹73,500 over 21 months to support their education in Classes 11 and 12. Along with financial aid, students will benefit from one-on-one mentorship, academic assistance, career guidance, competitive entrance examination preparation, exposure visits and home visits to encourage family involvement in their education.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants needed to score at least 85% in their Class 10 board examinations, secure admission to Class 11 at a college within the MMR, have an annual family income below ₹3.2 lakh and be residents of the region.
The programme also aims to help students adjust to the transition from school to college. Through regular mentoring, scholars will receive guidance on goal-setting, time management, examination preparation, task prioritisation and stress management. The initiative also focuses on developing critical thinking, communication skills and self-confidence.
“We are delighted to welcome this year’s cohort of 1,000 Kotak Junior Scholars. Each of these students has shown exceptional determination to continue learning despite financial constraints, and it is our privilege to walk alongside them at this pivotal stage of their journey,” said Ms. Arati Kaulgud, Director and Head of Scholarship at Kotak Education Foundation.
She added that the programme goes beyond financial assistance by building students’ confidence through mentorship, career guidance and regular engagement with their families.
Over its more than 19-year history, KEF’s scholarship initiatives have supported over 7,909 scholars, while more than 1,469 funded scholars have graduated. This year, the Foundation will support over 5,655 scholars through its five scholarship programmes.
KEF will monitor the selected students’ progress through structured mentorship and periodic academic reviews throughout Classes 11 and 12, with the aim of helping them continue their education and achieve better academic outcomes.
