Radisson, The Job Plus, THSC team up for hospitality skilling

Radisson Hotel Group, The Job Plus and the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) have partnered under R.A.H.I. (Radisson Advancing Hope & Inclusion) to skill 3,000 young people over the next seven years. The initiative aims to improve access to formal hospitality jobs for youth from underserved communities through industry-led training, certification and placement support.

Who the program is for

The program has a pan-India reach, with participants currently coming from more than 14 states and regions, including the Northeastern states, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana. It focuses on young people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, particularly those from economically disadvantaged families and first-generation entrants to the formal workforce. Selection is based on educational qualifications, socio-economic circumstances and aspiration to enter the workforce. The Job Plus says it goes beyond traditional hospitality schools to find and train young people from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, small towns and villages.

The curriculum combines classroom learning, practical training, industry immersion, National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) Level 4 assessments and certification through THSC. Participants also receive placement preparation and the chance to attend multiple job interviews.

Placement and career paths
Around 80% of beneficiaries have been placed in formal employment to date, according to the release. Beyond hotels and restaurants, the training opens paths to careers in corporate hospitality, managed workspaces and facility management.

What is next
Radisson Hotel Group is working with its partners to align the curriculum with industry feedback and evolving business requirements, with greater opportunities for industry immersion. A dedicated Radisson Connect component is also planned, to familiarise participants with hotel operations, service standards and career pathways.
