Company’s Project Aarogya and Project Navi Disha recognised for improving rural healthcare and strengthening agricultural livelihoods across communities.
Vedanta Power Limited has won two prestigious honours at the 19th India CSR Awards 2026 for its community development initiatives focused on rural healthcare and sustainable agriculture. The company’s flagship Project Aarogya was recognised in the Large Companies – Healthcare category, while its Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plant in Punjab received recognition in the CSR Enabling Innovation for Agriculture Development – Livelihood and Animal Husbandry category for Project Navi Disha.
The awards recognise Vedanta Power’s efforts to address the healthcare and livelihood challenges faced by communities around its operational areas. The recognitions were announced at the 19th India CSR Leadership Summit 2026, held under the theme “CSR Enabling Innovation – Bringing Ideas, Technology, Capital and Partnerships Together to Scale Social Impact.”
Through Project Aarogya, Vedanta Power has provided healthcare benefits to more than 85,000 people. The initiative focuses on improving access to preventive and curative medical services in underserved communities.
Its activities include Mobile Health Units in Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh, cancer screening and awareness programmes, eye and gynaecology camps, and nutritional support for tuberculosis patients under the Nikshay Mitra initiative. Health awareness campaigns on HIV/AIDS, dengue and other public health issues are also part of the programme.

Meanwhile, Project Navi Disha, launched in 2016 by the Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plant in Punjab, supports more than 3,000 farmers. The initiative aims to improve agricultural productivity and strengthen rural livelihoods through farmer training, capacity-building programmes, bio-fertile and seed distribution, water conservation awareness, and livestock healthcare support. It encourages farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural practices and build long-term livelihood security.
Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Rajinder Singh Ahuja, CEO and Whole-time Director, Vedanta Power Limited, said, “At Vedanta Power, we believe that meaningful community development begins with understanding the needs of the people around our areas of operations. Through Project Aarogya, we are working to improve access to essential healthcare, while Project Navi Disha is helping farming communities strengthen their livelihoods and adopt more sustainable agricultural practices.”
The dual recognition highlights Vedanta Power’s commitment to community welfare through locally relevant and long-term CSR initiatives. The company aims to continue supporting healthcare, agriculture and rural development while contributing to the well-being of communities across its operational regions.
