Film producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala has announced a new social initiative that will begin with his upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle. The producer revealed that his production house has decided to contribute a portion of the film’s earnings to the Army Widows Fund, marking the start of what he describes as a long-term commitment to “Citizen Social Responsibility” (CSR).
Speaking about the initiative, Nadiadwala said that the idea is to ensure every film produced under his banner supports a meaningful social cause. While Welcome to the Jungle will contribute to the Army Widows Fund, future projects may extend financial assistance to orphanages, educational initiatives, women’s welfare programmes, and other deserving non-governmental organisations.
According to the producer, the purpose of this initiative is not to seek recognition or publicity but to encourage others in the film industry to adopt similar practices. He believes that if more filmmakers dedicate even a small share of their earnings to social welfare, the collective impact could significantly improve the lives of thousands of people across the country.
Nadiadwala stressed that such contributions should not be viewed as charity but as a responsibility towards society. He explained that members of the entertainment industry are fortunate to receive public support and success, and therefore have a duty to give back. He added that helping people in need—whether through education, healthcare, financial assistance, or social welfare—is an obligation rather than a favour.
The producer also pointed out that India produces more than a thousand films every year. If even a small percentage of filmmakers commit part of their revenue to public welfare, it could generate substantial resources for important causes. He believes this approach could inspire a culture of giving within the entertainment industry while creating lasting benefits for communities across the country.
He further said that supporting individuals who require assistance with education, food, clothing, or opportunities for a better future is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to society. According to him, true success lies not only in producing successful films but also in using that success to positively influence the lives of others.
Welcome to the Jungle features a star-studded ensemble cast led by Akshay Kumar. The film also stars Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani and several other actors. The comedy entertainer marks another installment in the popular Welcome franchise and is expected to draw audiences with its large ensemble and humorous storyline.
With this initiative, Nadiadwala hopes to set an example for the film fraternity by integrating social responsibility into filmmaking. He believes that consistent contributions from successful productions can create meaningful change while encouraging the entertainment industry to play a greater role in supporting national and humanitarian causes.
