IndianOil’s Refineries Division reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare by organising a special outreach programme at Saikripa NGO in Noida under its “Smiles We Spread” initiative. The employee-driven campaign aims to encourage IndianOil personnel to engage directly with communities through acts of service, compassion and social inclusion, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to creating a positive impact beyond its core business operations.
Saikripa NGO, established in 1988, has been working for the welfare, education and rehabilitation of orphaned, abandoned and underprivileged children. The visit by IndianOil officials created an opportunity to interact closely with the children, encouraging them to pursue their aspirations while fostering a sense of confidence and belonging.
The programme was led by Anurag Sachdev, Executive Director (Marketing and Coordination, Shipping) at IndianOil’s Refineries Headquarters, along with senior officials from the corporation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Contracts and Shipping departments. Their visit focused on engaging with the children through meaningful conversations and motivational interactions rather than formal proceedings.
As part of the event, the children presented colourful cultural performances showcasing their talents and enthusiasm. The performances created a lively atmosphere and gave the visiting officials an opportunity to appreciate the children’s creativity while learning about their dreams, ambitions and life experiences.
Addressing the children, Sachdev encouraged them to believe in themselves and work diligently towards achieving their goals. He emphasised that dedication, discipline and perseverance are essential qualities for building a successful future. He also highlighted the importance of pursuing creative interests such as music, dance and art, noting that extracurricular activities help nurture confidence, improve communication skills and contribute to overall personality development.
The IndianOil officials spent time interacting individually with the children, offering words of encouragement and listening to their aspirations. The team also distributed gifts and goodies, adding excitement and joy to the occasion. The initiative aimed to create memorable experiences for the children while strengthening their confidence and motivating them to dream bigger.
The “Smiles We Spread” initiative represents IndianOil’s people-centric approach to corporate social responsibility. It encourages employees to participate in voluntary community service and contribute to social development through direct engagement with vulnerable sections of society. The programme reflects the corporation’s emphasis on empathy, care and meaningful human connections alongside its business operations.
IndianOil believes such outreach programmes not only provide emotional support and encouragement to children but also inspire employees to become active contributors to community development. By promoting inclusion and social responsibility, the initiative seeks to build stronger relationships between the organisation and the communities it serves.
The visit to Saikripa NGO forms part of IndianOil’s broader CSR efforts focused on education, child welfare and inclusive development. Through sustained community engagement and employee participation, the company aims to create lasting social value while encouraging hope, confidence and opportunities for underprivileged children. The programme demonstrated how simple acts of kindness, encouragement and personal interaction can make a meaningful difference in young lives while reinforcing IndianOil’s commitment to responsible and inclusive growth.
