BYD India has launched a focused Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at strengthening community infrastructure through investments in education, healthcare and environmental sustainability. The initiative, undertaken in partnership with FEEED NGO, reflects the electric vehicle manufacturer’s commitment to supporting long-term social development alongside its growing presence in the Indian market.
The programme is designed to address essential community needs by improving public infrastructure and creating lasting benefits rather than implementing one-time welfare activities. Through its latest CSR initiative, BYD India plans to enhance educational facilities, strengthen healthcare services and contribute to environmental conservation, reinforcing its broader sustainability vision.
As part of its education-focused efforts, the company will support the development of a government school by upgrading campus infrastructure and improving learning facilities. The project includes enhancements to school buildings, better educational resources and measures aimed at making the campus safer and more accessible for students and teachers. The initiative seeks to create an improved learning environment that encourages better educational outcomes and supports the overall development of children.
In the healthcare sector, BYD India will provide advanced hospital beds to a government hospital, helping improve patient care and treatment facilities. The upgraded equipment is expected to enhance comfort for patients while enabling healthcare professionals to deliver more efficient medical services. The intervention is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure in the region and support better health outcomes for local communities.
Complementing these initiatives, the CSR programme also includes a plantation drive in collaboration with partner organisations. Although environmental activities form a smaller part of the overall programme, the tree plantation campaign aligns with BYD’s global commitment to sustainability and responsible environmental practices. The company believes that community development and environmental conservation should progress together to create long-term social impact.
Speaking on the initiative, Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles Business at BYD India, said sustainability extends beyond the company’s products and technologies to include meaningful engagement with communities. He noted that the CSR programme focuses on strengthening basic infrastructure through practical, measurable and locally relevant interventions implemented in collaboration with experienced partners.
Representatives of FEEED NGO said the partnership would help execute structured projects that directly address local community requirements. They added that the collaboration is aimed at creating long-term value through carefully planned initiatives in education and healthcare while ensuring effective implementation on the ground.
BYD India said its CSR strategy emphasises accountability, sustained execution and measurable outcomes. The programme is aligned with the company’s global philosophy of “Technological Innovations for a Better Life,” extending its commitment to sustainability beyond electric mobility into community development. As the company continues expanding its footprint in India, it aims to contribute to social progress through initiatives that improve education, healthcare and environmental well-being while supporting inclusive growth.
