On September 10, PharmaZell Pvt. Ltd. donated ₹3 lakh worth of cooking equipment to Touch Stone Charities, a humanitarian organisation connected to the Hare Krishna Movement, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. Anant Dattatray Barbadhikar, MD, handed over the cooking equipment to Nishkrinchan Bhakta Das, president of Touch Stone Charities. PharmaZell Pvt. Ltd’s human resource manager, Appa Rao, was in attendance.
The Hare Krishna Movement’s president, Nishkrinchan Bhakta Das, stated that the new kitchen equipment would speed up meal preparation and aid in the growth and support of the Subhojanam programme, which would allow more people to get free meals. Through the Subhojanam centre at King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam, Touch Stone Charities currently provides free meals to patients and attendants three times a day, for a daily total of 1,200 meals. More than 40 lakh meals have been delivered in the last 14 years. Around 500 patient attendants receive food every day at the Homi Baba Cancer Hospital in Aganampudi, which opened a Subhojanam Centre in 2022. According to a statement released by Yaduraja Das of the Hare Krishna Movement, free meals and basic supplies were given to impacted individuals during the floods and the COVID-19 pandemic.
