In recognition of its exceptional work in comprehensive community development, Jindal Foundation, the social arm of Jindal Steel, has been given the Exceed CSR Award 2025 for Best Integrated Community-Driven CSR Project. On October 30, 2025, Dr Bhaskar Chatterjee, a former secretary of the Indian government and the former director general and chief executive officer of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, presented the award at a lavish ceremony in Bhubaneswar. This honour emphasises the extensive social impact of the Jindal Foundation, which has transformed the lives of millions of people in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand. By raising groundwater levels, increasing agricultural productivity, and guaranteeing year-round water availability, the Foundation’s watershed development programmes have improved community livelihoods under the inspiring direction of Hon. Member of Parliament and Jindal Steel Chairman Naveen Jindal.
“At Jindal Foundation, we believe that true progress lies in holistic development—where education, health, livelihood, environment, and culture come together to uplift lives in a balanced and sustainable manner,” said Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of the Jindal Foundation, in his expression of gratitude to the Exceed CSR Award 2025 jury. Our strategy is centred on fostering communities’ potential, empowering them internally, and making sure that progress is fair and inclusive. We want to create resilient communities that can prosper socially, economically, and environmentally by coordinating our efforts with the values of sustainability and human dignity. We believe that holistic development is about changing lives and giving each person the tools they need to live a life of dignity, health, and purpose rather than just creating opportunity.
The Jindal Foundation continues to support holistic growth in its operational areas with its all-encompassing and integrated approach to social transformation. Its programmes cover a wide range of topics, including women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability, cultural preservation, and the advancement of livelihood, health, and education. Development must be inclusive, equitable, and long-lasting, according to the organisation’s programmes, which are led by Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of the Jindal Foundation. The Foundation keeps bringing about quantifiable and significant change by fusing environmental conservation, social empowerment, and human development goals. This will help to shape a future in which communities flourish not only economically but also in terms of dignity, capacity, and shared prosperity. Prashant Hota, President of Jindal Steel and Group Head (CSR & Education), also attended the conference’s technical session. He discussed several tactics and ways to use CSR to accomplish sustainable development goals during the workshop. With its numerous sustainable development initiatives nationwide, the Jindal Foundation has endorsed 17 of the 17 UNSDGs.
