Apollo Tyres announced recently that the company has reached a significant milestone in its environmental disclosures and performance, receiving an “A-” leadership rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project for both water security and climate change.
According to the firm, Apollo Tyres’ CDP rating places it among the top-performing international reporters of environmental action and transparency. CDP runs a global disclosure system that addresses forests, water security, and climate change.
In 2020, Apollo Tyres started submitting reports to CDP. Since then, the business has made disclosures that are in line with global frameworks, such as the Science Based Targets initiative and the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.
Approximately 25,000 businesses globally use CDP to provide environmental data as of 2025. In light of this, Apollo Tyres’ CDP grade is strengthened by the “A-” score in a competitive sustainability environment. According to the corporation, increased environmental disclosures and enhanced governance have resulted in a steady improvement in its CDP scores over the past five years.
Apollo Tyres was given a CDP Climate Change assessment of “D” for the first time in 2020. Water security was included in the company’s reporting scope three years later. According to the CDP Water Security rating, it received a “B-“.
Apollo Tyres demonstrated leadership practices and ongoing development by earning an “A-” leadership rating by 2025 in both the CDP Climate Change and CDP Water Security ratings.
The corporation claims that the most recent assessment is a reflection of leadership practices and ongoing progress in all environmental performance areas.
Companies, cities, states, and regions can monitor and report environmental impacts using a standardised platform provided by CDP. These disclosures promote accountability and comparability in international marketplaces. According to Apollo Tyres, efforts to improve governance and monitoring of environmental challenges are acknowledged by the CDP “A-” leadership rating.
The corporation advanced emissions-reduction programmes linked to corporate climate governance and improved climate and water-related risk and opportunity management.
According to the firm, Apollo Tyres also increased cooperation with partners and suppliers to enhance disclosure of water security and control emissions throughout the value chain.
These steps encouraged greater environmental disclosure throughout the company and climate transparency. The “A-” leadership rating, according to Apollo Tyres Ltd. chief manufacturing officer Rajeev Kumar Sinha, represents consistent advancements made towards long-term environmental objectives.
According to Sinha, “Achieving an ‘A-‘ rating highlights our commitment to environmental stewardship and our progress towards a low-carbon, water-secure future.”
According to Apollo Tyres, the company is dedicated to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 and intends to completely offset greenhouse gas emissions throughout its value chain.
The corporation intends to reveal absolute-emission commitments soon in order to further this objective. These actions will help it achieve net zero emissions by 2050 as part of its decarbonisation programme.
According to the firm, future advancements in Apollo Tyres’ CDP rating and overall sustainability performance will be guided by improved disclosures and continuous alignment with the Science Based Targets approach.
