The BMW India Foundation and The Golf Foundation have partnered to establish “Golf for Everyone”, a statewide initiative that aims to uncover and nurture golfing talent among underprivileged youngsters, in an innovative attempt to make golf more inclusive and accessible.
“Golf has historically been seen as a sport reserved for the wealthy due to accessibility and resource limitations,” stated Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India. By giving gifted young athletes chances regardless of their socioeconomic background, the “Golf for Everyone” programme aims to alter this narrative. We intend to create a genuinely community-driven athletic culture that embraces diversity and equal opportunity by bringing golf to the homes of impoverished kids. The goal of the BMW India Foundation is to support initiatives that become truly inclusive by overcoming socioeconomic barriers. We firmly believe that initiatives like “Golf for Everyone” have the capacity to significantly impact society. The greatest annual golf talent hunt in India is being held in 2025–2026 by the BMW India Foundation and The Golf Foundation as part of this initiative. The quest for talent will start with in-school talent identification camps at government and low-income schools as part of this comprehensive grassroots golf discovery programme. Children can also WhatsApp “I am Talent” at +91 93106 92833 to take part in the talent hunt.
Children participate in basic athletic assessments, including throws, sprints, jumps, and coordination exercises, using portable hitting mats, nets, and putting kits. Young athletes that have promise in physical agility and coordination are identified through this preliminary screening.
The kids who make the short list from these camps will advance to regional on-range golf camps, which will be held at golf courses in several Indian states. In order to bridge the gap between undeveloped potential and official training, players will be exposed to the principles of golf and evaluated for fundamental skills. It is anticipated that between 1,800 and 2,000 kids will be assessed through these multi-phase procedures, leading to a National Talent Hunt where about 30 young golfers who show promise will be chosen to get advanced support. A complete support system comprising regular expert coaching, access to top-notch equipment, tournament exposure, mentorship, and financial aid will be provided to the chosen kids. This all-encompassing development programme seeks to promote these young athletes’ general personal development while enabling them to pursue professional golf.
In addition to finding future champions, the “Golf for Everyone” campaign tries to teach young people the virtues of self-control, tenacity, and sportsmanship. The initiative aims to inspire a new generation of achievers who will carry on Indian sports’ heritage on national and international stages by democratising access to golf.
