Several industries and corporate groups in Nashik have pledged nearly ₹35 crore under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to support infrastructure and public facilities for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027. The contributions are aimed at improving civic amenities, pilgrim services, and long-term urban infrastructure in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar.
One of the largest commitments came from Vishvaraj Foundation, supported by VEL, which announced a ₹28 crore project for installing and operating a sustainable water purification system at Kushavarth Kund in Trimbakeshwar. The initiative is planned for a 25-year period and is expected to significantly improve water quality for devotees who visit the sacred site for ritual bathing during the Kumbh Mela. Authorities believe the project will also contribute to environmental conservation and long-term maintenance of the holy water body.
Public sector lender Central Bank of India has pledged ₹4.13 crore to establish a comprehensive signage and wayfinding system across Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. The proposed system will include directional boards, informational displays, and safety signs to help pilgrims and tourists navigate important locations during the large-scale religious gathering. Officials stated that such infrastructure would improve crowd management and reduce confusion among visitors arriving from different parts of the country.
Infrastructure company Ashoka Buildcon has signed a memorandum of understanding worth around ₹1 crore for beautification and maintenance works across Nashik city. The project includes development of road medians and enhancement of public spaces at various locations to improve the city’s appearance ahead of the mega event.
Another contribution came from CTR, which committed ₹1 crore for setting up an e-library at Sant Dnyaneshwar Nagar in Nashik Road. The digital learning centre is intended to provide educational resources and internet access for students and young residents in the area, creating a lasting social benefit beyond the religious festival.
Apart from these major projects, several other organisations including Rambandhu Masale and DG Group have also extended support for civic initiatives related to sanitation, transport facilities, lighting systems, and landscaping work. The combined efforts are expected to strengthen urban infrastructure and improve the overall experience for pilgrims visiting the city during the Kumbh Mela.
In a parallel development, the Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority signed an agreement with deAsra Foundation to support around 2,000 nano-enterprises across Nashik district. The programme aims to formalise small businesses, provide skill training, improve access to credit, and create market opportunities for local entrepreneurs so they can benefit economically from the influx of pilgrims and tourists during the event.
Kumbh Mela Authority Commissioner Shekhar Singh said the CSR initiatives would help create durable civic assets while enhancing facilities for both residents and pilgrims during Simhastha 2027. Authorities believe industry participation will play a crucial role in ensuring successful management of one of the country’s largest religious gatherings.
