The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has resolved 2,306 long-pending pension grievances out of 3,193 cases, achieving a 72% redressal rate under Special Campaign 3.The campaign was conducted from July 7 to August 31, 2026, with the participation of 40 ministries and departments. The department held two review meetings during the campaign and regularly followed up on pending cases.

During the preparatory phase, ministries and departments identified 1,062 long-pending pension grievances, claims and issues received through online and physical modes. Another 2,131 cases pending on the CPENGRAMS portal for more than one month were also taken up.

The campaign brought relief to many pensioners and their families, particularly those living in rural areas. The department said the growing use of online grievance portals is helping bridge the digital divide.

Several long-pending cases involving defence pensioners and their dependents were also resolved. These included:

• Rs 16.70 lakh in family pension arrears released to Jayalakshmi Karnan, the disabled dependent daughter of a defence pensioner.
• Rs 30 lakh in disability pension arrears settled for defence pensioner Idan Singh.
• Rs 26.12 lakh in war injury element arrears paid to defence pensioner Kapur Singh.
• Rs 19 lakh in dual family pension arrears released to Rukmani Nair.
• Rs 10.66 lakh in liberalised family pension arrears paid to Simarto.
• Rs 37.40 lakh in family pension arrears disbursed to Angoori Devi.
• Rs 18.57 lakh in Special Family Pension arrears, along with Rs 12.60 lakh in ex-gratia arrears, including interest, paid to Saranjit Kaur, the mother of an army personnel.
• Rs 6.27 lakh in pending family pension arrears released to Sunaina Kumari, the widowed daughter of a defence pensioner.
• Rs 25.99 lakh in time-barred service pension arrears paid to defence pensioner Ranjit Singh.
• Rs 30.15 lakh in family pension arrears released to Koranga Lakshmi, spouse of a defence pensioner.

The department said efforts are continuing to resolve the remaining pending grievances.
