Rays Power Infra Ltd has donated an ambulance to Civil Hospital, Lunglei, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to support healthcare services in Mizoram. Chief Minister Lalduhoma received the vehicle from company representatives on Thursday and handed it over to officials of the state Health and Family Welfare Department.
The donation was facilitated by the Chief Minister’s Charitable Trust and aims to support healthcare services at the district-level hospital.
During the handover ceremony, Lalnunmawii, Additional Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare Department, and Dr Lucy Ramhmingliani Renthlei received the ambulance on behalf of the department.
Rays Power Infra was represented by Siddarth Sharma, North East Commercial and Finance Head, and Gordhan Sharma. R. Lalrodingi, Chief Executive Officer of the Chief Minister’s Charitable Trust, along with Trust Secretary Raymond Lalmuana and member Lalrinawma Khiangte, also attended the event.

Chief Minister Appeals for More CSR Support
Chief Minister Lalduhoma thanked Rays Power Infra for its contribution and highlighted the need for greater corporate support for Mizoram.
He noted that the state receives relatively little funding through Corporate Social Responsibility programmes compared with other states in India. He expressed hope that more companies would come forward to support Mizoram’s development through their CSR initiatives.
The Chief Minister also urged Rays Power Infra to continue contributing to the state’s progress.
The donation highlights the role that corporate organisations can play in supporting public healthcare facilities, particularly in states that receive limited CSR funding. An ambulance can help hospitals respond to patient transport needs and support access to medical care, especially when patients require transfers to other healthcare facilities.
Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility allows companies to contribute to social development beyond their core business activities. Healthcare, education, rural development and community welfare are among the areas that can benefit from such initiatives.
The ambulance donation is a practical example of how CSR support can strengthen local healthcare infrastructure. Lalduhoma’s appeal also underlines the importance of encouraging more corporate bodies to invest in Mizoram and address the state’s development needs.
The initiative is expected to support Civil Hospital, Lunglei, in its healthcare-related transport requirements while encouraging further partnerships between the government and private companies.
