Axis Bank has inaugurated its eighth and largest Axis DilSe Centre of Excellence at the 41 Assam Rifles Garrison in Tezpur, Assam. The Dhurba Jyoti Dutta Centre of Excellence, run with Assam Rifles and the National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO), will mentor up to 80 students a year, giving them fully residential coaching for national competitive exams such as NEET and JEE.
What the centre offers
The centre gives students up to one year of high-intensity residential coaching and mentoring, with mentoring aimed at building confidence, discipline and leadership. It is named after Rifleman Dhurba Jyoti Dutta of 33 Assam Rifles, a recipient of the Shaurya Chakra. It was earlier based in Dibrugarh and has now moved to Tezpur.
The Axis DilSe model
The Axis DilSe Centres of Excellence began in 2022 as a CSR partnership between Axis Bank, Assam Rifles and NIEDO. There are now eight centres in six north-eastern states, which the bank says have supported more than 1,000 students into colleges and universities across India, including the IITs and AIIMS.
Results so far
In the 2025-26 cohort, 264 of the 308 students who appeared for NEET qualified, a rate of 86%, and five centres recorded pass rates above 90%. Of the 41 students who appeared for JEE, 32 secured admissions to engineering institutions including IITs, NITs and BIT Mesra. The figures are the bank’s.

The partners say limited access to coaching and mentoring can make it hard for talented students in remote communities to realise their academic ambitions, and the program aims to bridge that gap.
