Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, Managing Trustee and President of M3M Foundation, has been honoured with the “CSR Person of the Year 2026” award at the 18th India CSR Leadership Summit held at Rungta International Skills University in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The award was presented by the India CSR Network in recognition of his contribution to corporate social responsibility and sustainable community development initiatives across India.
The recognition highlights Dr. Mahajan’s role in positioning CSR as a tool for inclusive growth and long-term social transformation. Under his leadership, M3M Foundation has implemented projects focused on education, healthcare, women empowerment, livelihood generation, skill development, and environmental sustainability. The organisation has particularly concentrated on community-driven development models aimed at improving lives in underserved and rural areas.
The India CSR Leadership Summit 2026 was organised under the theme “CSR, Sustainability and ESG for Viksit Bharat 2047.” The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, academic experts, and social sector professionals to discuss the future of responsible business practices and sustainable development in India. Participants explored how CSR and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks can contribute to India’s long-term development goals.
As part of the summit, Dr. Mahajan also participated in a panel discussion on measuring the social impact of CSR programmes. During the discussion, he stressed the importance of community-led approaches in addressing challenges related to sustainability, climate resilience, and inclusive development. He highlighted that effective CSR initiatives should not only provide short-term support but also create long-term systems that empower communities economically and socially.
M3M Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the M3M Group, has been involved in several social initiatives in recent years. The organisation has worked extensively in areas such as women’s entrepreneurship, vocational training, healthcare awareness, sports promotion, and educational support for marginalised communities. Programmes like iMpower, Kaushal Sambal, and Sarvoday have focused on improving livelihoods, promoting self-reliance, and supporting rural development.
The foundation has also supported public health and community awareness campaigns, including initiatives related to HPV vaccination awareness and preventive healthcare in Haryana. In addition, it has collaborated with local institutions and grassroots organisations to improve access to education, skills training, and economic opportunities for women and youth.
The summit featured several noted speakers and social leaders who shared experiences and perspectives on sustainable development and accountable CSR practices. Among them were social activist Phoolbasan Bai Yadav and Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, Chairman of the National Sustainability Reporting and Disclosure Standards Committee, Bureau of Indian Standards. Discussions focused on how businesses can align CSR activities with India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Industry experts at the summit noted that CSR in India has evolved significantly over the last decade, moving beyond charity-driven activities toward measurable and impact-oriented development programmes. Organisations are increasingly focusing on sustainability, climate adaptation, digital inclusion, and grassroots empowerment as part of their CSR strategies.
The award to Dr. Mahajan reflects the growing importance of leadership in designing CSR programmes that create measurable social impact while supporting broader national development goals.
