The government reaffirmed today that India’s first concern is the safety and well-being of its seafarers.
India continues to keep a careful eye on events in West Asia, according to Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, who briefed the media in New Delhi.
Regarding an incident involving two foreign-flagged vessels, Mr. Jaiswal stated that all 22 seafarers are safe and that the government is communicating with the appropriate authorities to guaranty their security and welfare.

The spokesperson stated that Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth received the title of Honorary General during his tour to Nepal. This, he said, is a reflection of the two nations’ long-standing military camaraderie.
The MEA Spokesperson stated that during MEA Secretary Sripriya Ranganathan’s visit to Palestine, she communicated India’s resolve to be a powerful development partner for Palestine. He also mentioned that the Secretary gave the Palestinian administration a shipment of life-saving medications for the Palestinian people’s medical needs.
