Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth at the 20th Rozgar Mela on Monday, highlighting the importance of employment, skill development and youth participation in building a developed and self-reliant India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed candidates in various Central Government departments during the 20th Rozgar Mela, held through video conferencing. The event focused on creating employment opportunities and preparing young people for the future.
Addressing the newly recruited youth, PM Modi said the government has been working to improve skills and expand career opportunities for young Indians. He also highlighted efforts to increase private-sector employment through the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, which has an outlay of around one lakh crore rupees. The scheme aims to help nearly two crore young people enter the workforce for the first time.
The Prime Minister also spoke about Free Trade Agreements signed with nearly 40 countries. He said these agreements could open new markets for entrepreneurs, encourage partnerships and create additional career opportunities. He added that India is now the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem.
Rozgar Mela programmes were organised in several cities, including Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nagpur and Howrah. In Kolkata, Union Minister of State Dr Sukanta Majumder distributed appointment letters at the National Library to recruits joining departments such as Railways, India Post and Health and Family Welfare.
In Mumbai, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse encouraged new recruits to improve their skills and adapt to technological changes. In Pune, 217 candidates received appointment letters for positions in departments and organisations including DRDO, Customs, Airports Authority of India, GAIL and Railways.
In Nagpur, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari distributed appointment letters to 25 candidates in a representative ceremony. A total of 337 candidates from Nagpur received appointments in departments including Income Tax, Railways, AIIMS and Bank of Baroda.
The newly appointed employees will serve in different government ministries and departments, contributing to public services and national development.
