Siemens Energy India Limited (SEIL) has launched its first Energy4Good Technology Centre at Government Polytechnic, Bicholim, Goa, to strengthen technical skills and improve employment opportunities for young people. The centre was inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The new facility can train up to 200 students every year through practical learning, modern equipment and industry-oriented technical education. The initiative aims to prepare students for jobs in the energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, where demand for skilled workers is growing.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, “Skill development is a key pillar of Goa’s growth journey.” He added that the centre would give students hands-on experience with modern industrial technologies, helping them become job-ready and improving their employment prospects.
Guilherme Mendonca, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Energy India Limited, said the country’s energy transition requires a skilled workforce capable of supporting the growing infrastructure sector.
“The Energy4Good Technology Center is focused on developing industry-ready talent by strengthening technical competencies at the grassroots level,” Mendonca said. He added that collaboration with educational institutions would help build long-term training capabilities for future generations.
The centre is one of three Energy4Good Technology Centres established by SEIL during the 2026 financial year. The other two are located in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Together, the facilities can train more than 600 students annually.
The training programme will cover programmable logic controllers (PLC) and drives, hydraulics and pneumatics, mechatronics, sensor technology, computer-aided design and Microsoft Office. Students will also learn lean manufacturing, quality management, workplace safety and productivity improvement.
According to the company’s press release, the India Skills Report 2026 puts employability among polytechnic graduates at around 33%, highlighting the need for training that matches industry requirements. The three-year programme will include infrastructure development, curriculum design, faculty training, laboratory sessions and industry exposure. Faculty development and integration into regular academic programmes will help participating institutes gradually manage the centres independently.
