Amway India has launched the second phase of its flagship Power of 5 (Po5) School Nutrition Education Programme in New Delhi, strengthening its efforts to promote nutrition awareness and healthy lifestyle habits among schoolchildren. The initiative aims to integrate nutrition education into everyday learning while encouraging children, families, and communities to adopt healthier practices from an early age.
The programme is being implemented in collaboration with ChildFund India and will cover 10 government and government-aided schools in South Delhi during the 2026–27 financial year. It is expected to benefit nearly 15,000 people, including around 2,500 students from Classes 1 to 8, along with teachers, parents, and members of the wider school community.
Phase II builds on the achievements of the programme’s first phase, which reached more than 40,000 individuals, including 10,000 children. According to Amway India, the earlier phase helped improve awareness about balanced diets, hygiene, and healthy food choices, encouraging positive behavioural changes among participating students. The company now plans to deepen its impact by making nutrition education a regular part of the school ecosystem.
The new phase focuses on four key pillars: nutrition education for children, teacher capacity building, technology-enabled learning, and active engagement with parents and communities. Interactive classroom modules, digital learning resources, storytelling, games, and role-play activities will be used to make nutrition education engaging and practical. Students will also participate in a Nutrition Ambassador programme, while teachers will serve as Nutrition Champions to reinforce healthy habits in schools. Smart health monitoring kiosks and digital platforms will further support learning and behavioural change.
The programme was formally inaugurated at Shaheed Hemu Kalani Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi. The launch featured volunteer-led activities such as developing nutrition-themed kitchen gardens and herb pots, organising sports sessions, and serving nutritious meals to students, reflecting the initiative’s emphasis on experiential learning.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director of Amway India, said the programme is designed not only to spread awareness but also to equip children with the knowledge and confidence needed to make healthier choices throughout their lives. He noted that the second phase extends the initiative beyond classrooms by involving families and communities, creating a broader support system for improved nutrition and wellbeing.
The initiative also aligns with India’s wider efforts to improve child nutrition and supports national goals aimed at addressing malnutrition through collaborative action. By combining education, technology, and community participation, Amway India hopes to create lasting behavioural changes that contribute to healthier schools and stronger communities. Through the expanded Power of 5 programme, the company seeks to empower children as ambassadors of healthy living while fostering greater awareness of nutrition among parents, teachers, and society at large.
