Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday said the Congress government’s 1,000 days in office marked an important milestone in the state’s welfare and development journey.
Mahesh Goud said the government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had focused on key sectors including education, healthcare, women, farmers, students, unemployed youth and other sections of society.
He said farmers’ welfare had remained a major priority, with the government spending ₹1.7 lakh crore on agriculture and farmers in 32 months.Speaking about welfare programmes, Mahesh Goud highlighted the Gruha Jyothi scheme, which provides free electricity for consumption of up to 200 units to households. He also mentioned the supply of LPG cylinders at ₹500.
He said the government had issued 16.3 lakh new ration cards to meet the needs of poor families. With more than one crore food security cards, around 3.4 crore people are benefiting from the state’s food security system, he added.
Mahesh Goud also said that more than 70,000 government jobs had been provided, helping build confidence among Telangana’s youth.
On social justice measures, he said the government had conducted a BC caste survey and passed Bills providing 42% reservation for BCs in the Assembly. The Bills are currently awaiting clearance from the Centre.
He further said Telangana had become the first state to implement SC categorisation following the Supreme Court’s order.
The TPCC president said the government’s decisions were in line with the vision of the AICC leadership and focused on ensuring welfare and development for different sections of Telangana’s population.
